Each year we produce around 15 million avocados, carefully monitored at every stage of growth to achieve the perfect dry-matter content for smooth ripening and a rich, distinctive flavour. From wholesalers to consumers, everyone who enjoys an Elgon avocado tastes the care that went into it.
From orchard to export, our focus remains the same — freshness and reliability. Harvested at the ideal maturity stage, each avocado is handled with precision to maintain quality during packing and cooling. Temperature-controlled storage and transport ensure that every Elgon avocado arrives with the same freshness and taste it had when it left our farm.

Although avocados have long been part of our heritage, we officially returned to commercial production in 2016. Since then, we’ve planted 116 hectares of drip-irrigated Hass avocados, alongside a smaller area of Fuerte — and we’re not done. Our goal is to expand to 400 hectares in the coming years.

Environmental responsibility guides everything we do. Our floating solar irrigation system powers 96% of our avocado program, saving over 30,000 litres of diesel yearly. We reuse rainwater from rose greenhouses and generate 660 kW of green energy from hydro and solar power — steps bringing us closer to carbon neutrality by 2029.
