Each Elgon rose begins in the fertile soils at the base of Mount Elgon, where craftsmanship meets technology to create ideal growing conditions. Our greenhouses — built from a mix of steel and wood — cover around 50 hectares and combine soil and hydroponic systems that keep the plants strong and vibrant all year round. Fertigation and irrigation are fully computerised, ensuring every plant receives exactly what it needs, when it needs it.
Organic compost from our own worm hotel enriches the soil naturally, while every drop of water is reused through our rainwater collection system. For more than 20 years, we’ve followed an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach — using beneficial insects, organic treatments and fewer than eight active ingredients to protect our plants responsibly.
Once each stem reaches the perfect cut stage, our post-harvest process begins — focused on freshness, hygiene and timing. Roses move quickly to our cold stores, where temperature and humidity are tightly controlled to preserve their natural vitality.
Every shipment is inspected and traceable from greenhouse to bouquet. Transport is managed in-house, with temperature-controlled trucks delivering daily to Nairobi for export — guaranteeing that every rose from Mount Elgon arrives as fresh as it left the farm.
In Western Kenya’s cool mountain climate and rich volcanic soil, our roses flourish with bright colours, sturdy stems and lasting freshness. Surrounded by 150 hectares of wild forest with monkeys, antelopes and 250 beehives, we grow with deep respect for people, nature and biodiversity.

Every day, more than 250,000 stems leave our farm for Rose Handling Services BV in the Netherlands. Located at Royal FloraHolland Rijnsburg, RHS manages preparation, grading and international logistics — ensuring a seamless connection between our greenhouses in Kenya and our customers around the world.
Together, we bring the beauty of Mount Elgon roses to markets across the globe — handled with pride from start to finish. Even our packaging reflects this care: we now use 90% recycled plastic sleeves, reducing waste without compromising quality.
