From company initiative to lasting impact
In 2005, our community programmes were formally brought together under The Mount Elgon Trust, allowing us to expand our reach and attract external support. What began as small, company-led initiatives has grown into a foundation that supports hundreds of people in our surrounding communities.
The Trust is governed by a dedicated board of trustees — including directors and senior managers of Mount Elgon Orchards, a community representative and a member of the Catholic Diocese of Kitale — ensuring transparency, continuity and shared responsibility.

Mount Elgon Orchards continues to cover salaries and operational costs, while external funding supports infrastructure and new developments on Trust-owned land.
